The Opportunity
If you are an Electrical Contracts Manager looking for a varied, consistent workload across an interesting mix of sectors, with a business that has the structure and support to back you up, this is worth a look.
Our client is a specialist M&E engineering contractor with a North West base in Wigan, delivering electrical and building services projects across education, healthcare, commercial, defence, custodial and public sector transport environments. Projects range from £10,000 to £3 million, which means genuine variety in both scale and complexity. Their public sector client base includes framework relationships that provide a structured, consistent pipeline rather than a dependency on winning every open tender.
This is a permanent Electrical Contracts Manager role in which you will take full ownership of electrical contract delivery from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover. You will manage directly employed operatives and specialist subcontractors, carry the programme and manage the commercial side throughout, and act as the primary point of contact for clients and main contractors across your project portfolio.
About the Business
Our client is a well-established M&E engineering specialist with national reach, operating across a range of sectors from a North West base. Their capability covers electrical engineering, mechanical services, HVAC, in-house design and planned and reactive maintenance, all delivered under one roof. The in-house design team works closely alongside the delivery function throughout the project lifecycle, which means technical queries are resolved quickly and the coordination between design and installation is tighter than on projects where design is fully outsourced.
The Wigan office handles a broad portfolio of public and private sector work spanning schools, colleges, healthcare facilities, MOD and MOJ sites, office fit-outs and Transport for Greater Manchester schemes. That breadth of sector experience, combined with project values ranging from small works to multi-million-pound contracts, means the role offers consistent variety rather than a repetitive programme of similar jobs.
Accreditations include ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The business holds places on public sector procurement frameworks and has a strong track record of repeat and referral-based work from the clients and main contractors it works with regularly.
