The Opportunity
We have partnered with a Tier 1 contractor and leading national infrastructure business to help grow the building services design team within their in-house design consultancy. This role is for a mechanical building services design engineer to undertake mechanical designs for large, complex construction projects, delivering compliant, sustainable and cost-effective solutions from concept through to construction.
The role is available in Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds.
You would produce high-quality mechanical designs and specifications, support project design meetings, and ensure coordinated design solutions through to project completion. It is a strong opportunity for a mechanical building services engineer, chartered or working towards it, to develop their career on major projects within a Tier 1 design consultancy.
Salary is £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.

What You'll Be Doing
Producing high-quality mechanical designs and specifications that meet client requirements
Undertaking professional mechanical design services across allocated projects
Providing technical advice in mechanical building services engineering
Supporting mechanical engineering in project design meetings and establishing solutions
Ensuring delivery of coordinated design solutions to the end of projects
Providing budget costs and pre-tender estimates as required
Supporting sustainable design and BIM initiatives
Ensuring designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations and industry standards
What We're Looking For
Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, and member of CIBSE or IET
Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership
Mechanical building services design experience, ideally on complex projects
A good level of technical knowledge in mechanical design
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with quality procedures and document control in engineering design
Able to meet BPSS security clearance requirements
