The Opportunity
We have partnered with a Tier 1 contractor and leading national infrastructure business to help grow the building services design team within their in-house design consultancy. This is a senior design engineering role: you would take full responsibility for the preparation of electrical designs and technical advice on large, complex construction projects, leading design delivery on high-value schemes.
The role is based in Liverpool. You would own electrical design delivery from concept through to construction, provide high-level technical advice, represent electrical engineering in design meetings and help develop standards and best practice across the team. It suits an experienced electrical building services engineer, chartered or working towards it, ready to operate at a senior level on major projects.
Salary is £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.

What You'll Be Doing
Taking full responsibility for the preparation of electrical designs and advice on major projects
Leading electrical design delivery from concept through to construction
Providing high-level technical advice in electrical building services engineering
Representing electrical engineering in project design meetings and coordination
Ensuring delivery of coordinated design solutions to the end of projects
Developing standards and best practice to share across the design team
Providing budget costs and pre-tender estimates as required
Driving sustainable design solutions and BIM initiatives
Maintaining effective communication with senior management on output, progress, cost and risk
What We're Looking For
Degree in Electrical Building Services or Electrical Engineering, and member of CIBSE or IET
Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership
Significant electrical building services design experience on large, complex projects
A high level of technical knowledge and experience in electrical design
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for wider audiences
Experience with quality procedures and document control in engineering design
Able to meet BPSS security clearance requirements
