We’re partnering with a respected M&E contractor in Manchester to find an Electrical Project Engineer. This full-time, permanent role suits someone who enjoys turning drawings into buildable solutions, coordinating site activity, and keeping quality, safety, and programme on track.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking electrical packages from design handover through installation, test, and commissioning

  • Interpreting drawings and specs, raising RFIs, and resolving buildability issues early

  • Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep programme and quality on course

  • Preparing and maintaining technical documents: ITPs, RAMS, test sheets, O&M inputs, as-fitted updates

  • Attending design and progress meetings, providing concise technical updates

  • Supporting procurement with take-offs, kit lists, and technical submittals

  • Assisting with cost control through variation support and accurate progress reporting

  • Championing safety, compliance, and neat, serviceable installations on every job

  • Working on Manchester based local projects

Skills & Experience Required

  • Background in electrical building services on live projects

  • Confident reading drawings, schematics, and schedules, and turning them into clear site instructions

  • Working knowledge of BS 7671, testing and inspection, and common M&E coordination issues

  • Comfortable with MS Office and basic project tools; exposure to BIM/ACC or similar is helpful

  • Good communicator who can collaborate with designers, supervisors, and clients

  • Relevant electrical qualifications or an engineering degree, plus a full UK driving licence
