Overview
We are currently seeking an M&E Pre-Construction Manager in Leeds to support the front end of major building and engineering projects, ensuring each opportunity is set up to succeed technically, commercially, and operationally.
This role suits a strong M&E leader with an HVAC and electrical bias who can coordinate internal resources, manage risk, drive procurement strategy, and keep stakeholders aligned from early engagement through to handover.
Experience supporting large project values from £2m+ is important, with healthcare exposure viewed favourably.

What You’ll Be Doing
Managing engineering services activity in line with company process and project governance
Coordinating internal resources day to day and reporting staffing issues as required
Producing and maintaining clear plans, procedures and reporting across the project lifecycle
Managing project commercial issues, cost reporting (WIP) and supporting positive cash flow
Owning procurement strategy for engineering services to achieve best value
Identifying client requirements and ensuring delivery meets expectations
Identifying project risks, implementing mitigation actions and tracking outcomes
Driving compliance through regular audits and consistent communication with project teams
Supporting programme production and management, including sequencing and interfaces
Managing technical queries, scope alignment, variations and monthly applications
Liaising with site teams to support installation and commissioning readiness
Ensuring health and safety requirements are met, including RAMS and safe systems of work
Supporting compilation and presentation of O&M manuals and project close-out information
Skills & Experience Required
Proven M&E leadership experience, ideally with an HVAC and electrical bias
Experience managing M&E services on projects £2m+, within budget and to programme
Strong understanding of specification requirements and resolving technical queries
Confident managing procurement, labour, subcontractors and supplier performance
Commercial awareness across cost control, WIP reporting, change and variation management
Strong stakeholder management and the ability to represent the business internally and externally
Experience coordinating M&E installations and interface management
Strong IT skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Project and Excel
Healthcare experience preferred
Ability to pass BPSS pre-employment clearance
Qualifications (preferred where applicable)
HNC or ONC in Building Services (essential)
HND or degree in Building Services Engineering (preferred)
SMSTS, CSCS and IOSH (preferred)
