Oversee mechanical projects for a respected contractor delivering work across critical UK sectors.
We’re working with a well-established M&E contractor based in Preston to find a skilled Mechanical Contracts Manager. This full-time, permanent role will see you take ownership of mechanical projects across healthcare, education, commercial, custodial, and defence sectors — from pre-start through to handover.
This role is an excellent fit for someone experienced in mechanical building services and who wants to work with a company that values professionalism, compliance, and long-term partnerships.

What You’ll Be Doing
Managing multiple mechanical contracts from pre-construction through to final handover
Leading site teams and subcontractors to ensure delivery is on time, to spec, and within budget
Attending client and design meetings and managing stakeholder expectations
Reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, and resolving design issues
Working closely with commercial teams to support valuations, variations, and cost control
Monitoring health & safety compliance across active sites
Reporting on project progress and supporting team performance
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience managing mechanical building services projects
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and installations
Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously
Clear understanding of commercial and contractual responsibilities
Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
Familiarity with industry compliance standards and H&S regulations
Relevant mechanical qualifications or trade background preferred
Benefits
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
