We’re working with a long-established M&E contractor in Warrington to find a capable and independent Mechanical Design Engineer for a permanent position. This is a great opportunity to work on technically interesting projects in specialist environments, with the autonomy to get on with the job without being micromanaged.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Producing mechanical designs across projects in specialist sectors, including pharma, food, and high-care environments

  • Developing layouts, schematics, and technical specifications

  • Creating calculations, drawings, and documentation using AutoCAD (essential)

  • Using Revit where required (preferable but not essential)

  • Liaising with project managers and supporting delivery teams with technical input

  • Attending design meetings and occasional site visits

  • Ensuring your designs are clear, compliant, and buildable

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience working for a design & build M&E contractor

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and HVAC systems

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential); Revit experience is a bonus

  • Confidence working independently and taking full ownership of design tasks

  • Familiarity with pharma, food, or high-care sector projects is desirable

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support site teams effectively
