We’re working with a prominent M&E contractor to find a Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing team in Shrewsbury. This full-time role is available either as a permanent position (£60,000 – £70,000 + benefits) or on a contract basis with a competitive, negotiable day rate.
You’ll initially be taking the lead on a major healthcare scheme — the redevelopment of Shrewsbury Hospital — a flagship project requiring technical excellence, coordination skill, and confident leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the delivery of mechanical services on a major healthcare project
Managing project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery
Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain project alignment
Monitoring programme, quality, and budget performance
Overseeing compliance with health & safety standards and technical specifications
Reviewing and interpreting M&E designs, raising any technical issues early
Supporting procurement and commercial teams during the delivery phase
Skills & Experience Required
Experience managing mechanical building services projects (ideally including healthcare)
Strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills
A background in HVAC, plumbing, and medical gases is beneficial
Comfortable working on fast-paced, high-spec projects with multiple stakeholders
Able to interpret detailed mechanical designs and manage on-site installation teams
Full UK driving licence
Relevant mechanical qualifications or engineering degree preferred
Benefits
Permanent Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + full benefits
