Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + benefits

Job Summary
As a Mechanical Estimator, you’ll play a key role in preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for mechanical building services projects. You’ll be working closely with pre-construction, design, and project delivery teams to ensure bids are aligned with both client expectations and operational capabilities.
Your input will help secure a strong pipeline of work across commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed mechanical cost estimates for new project opportunities
Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical input
Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to build commercially viable bids
Identify potential risks and opportunities in proposed tenders
Assist with tender submissions and pre-contract negotiations
Provide cost breakdowns and commercial insight for handover to delivery teams
Keep up to date with market rates, supplier options, and building services innovations
Skills & Experience Required
Experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services or M&E sector
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, services, and installation methods
Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications
Commercial awareness and a solid grasp of the tendering process
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and confidence working to deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services preferred
